Employee Assistance Programme

Ada Meher is delighted to announce that the company has now partnered with Health Assured to provide Mental Health support to each and every member of staff at the company, both now and in the future.

What is the Programme?

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) are employee benefit programmes offered by many employers. EAP is intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health and well-being. EAP generally include assessment, short-term counselling and referral services for employees and their immediate family.

1 in 6 people experiences mental health problems in the workplace. 21% have called in sick to avoid work due to stress. 14% have resigned and 42% have considered resigning due to stress. Women employed full-time are almost twice as likely to have a common mental health problem as men (19.8% vs 10.9%). These stats, as well as many others, highlight the impact that working conditions and environment can have on a person's mental health and wellbeing. Better mental health support in the workplace can save UK businesses up to £8 billion per year.

The programme offers support surrounding:

  • Family issues
  • Bereavement
  • Trauma
  • Relationship Issues
  • Stress-related conditions.

It is not an exaggeration to state that Health Assured’s approach has revolutionised the EAP market, moving the model from passive, reactive care to proactive and interventional support for the immense benefit of both the employee and employer.

Critical Incident Management

The Critical Incident Management service provides a fully trained trauma counsellor or counselling team to be onsite, typically within 24 to 48 working hours to deliver a specialist group counselling debriefing. EAP clients will also have immediate access to 24-hour telephone support to assist with the management of the incident.

Counselling Service

We recognise there can be times when additional support is needed for employees and managers alike. Balancing the pressures of work with the needs of home and personal life can be at times, stressful. Our new employee counselling scheme provides complete nationwide coverage and guarantees all counsellors meet stringent quality criteria.

What Ada Meher employees are now entitled to:

  • Up to eight hours of telephone counselling sessions per employee.
  • Up to 8 hours face to face counselling per employee, including CBT sessions.
  • Online health & wellbeing portal.

As an employer, we have a duty of care to look after our employees' wellbeing.

There is still a genuine taboo surrounding mental health - 30% of UK staff feel unable to talk openly about stress with their line manager - and it can be difficult for managers to identify colleagues who are struggling in order to support them. Therefore, at Ada Meher, we are making mental health a priority and supporting our employees through difficult times.
